Imagine some peaceful scenery that surrounds you on the top of the mountain. You can barely catch your breath, but you feel so happy touching the clouds. One thought crosses your mind…you are alone at the top, but it feels right.
The “Radiant” painting is about the space in-between snowflakes’ fall and the magical silence after the snowstorm. The silence gets deeper after being tormented by constant noise and nonsense. The soul rises through the trees that grow taller and it feeds itself with the sunlight, getting colored with gentle and vulnerable pastel tones.
I want to talk about courage through this painting. About the strength you achieve when being patient and forgiving yourself. It resembles to a snowstorm that makes the time hibernate and feels like the smell of fresh breeze.
I remember the day I painted it. I was preparing for a test the next day and I didn’t want to go to that class. I decided to paint just for a little while. I didn’t start from zero; I painted on top of another painting, by adding lots of pastel colors and whites. I stayed up all night painting and I couldn’t wake up in the morning to attend the test.
When I saw the painting in the morning, I said happily to myself: “I will definitely not be a chemist. I am an artist and that’s all that matters.” Period.
